ANOTHER BATCH OF OGUN RESIDENTS GETS OVER N13M COMPENSATION
Few weeks after over six million naira was paid as gratuitous and crop compensation to some residents of Odofin-Oke village in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, some 34 residents of Bara village in the same Local Government have collected the sum of N13, 663,250 as compensation for land acquired for the establishment of Evans Therapeutics Limited.
Speaking while presenting cheques to the beneficiaries at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, the Special Adviser/Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Aina Salami, emphasised that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration would leave no stone unturned as regards payment of compensation on lands acquired for commercial purposes.
Salami, represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Lands (Legal), Mr. Emmanuel Akande stressed that government would give priority to prompt payment of compensation for acquired lands, appreciating the affected citizens for their understanding and cooperation.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer, Evans Therapeutics Limited, Mr. Wale Oyenuga explained that the compensation was a demonstration of the company’s concern to the welfare of the people in the area.
Oyenuga applauded the government for its support, saying establishment of the company would create employment opportunities, further boost economy of the State and enhance relationship with the host community.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Asiwaju of Orile-Imo, High Chief Olakunle Olalekan commended the State government for bringing investors to the area, appealing to the company to consider indigenes for job opportunities and not to shirk from its Corporate Social Responsibility.
