BUREAU TRAINS STAFF ON DATA, INFORMATION PROCESSING
As a way to facilitate data that will in turn make information easy for accessibility on web map application, regarding land management, a capacity building for staff in the Ogun State Bureau of Lands and Survey, has been conducted.
The Special Adviser and Director General of the Bureau, Mr. Aina Salami, while speaking at the training programme tagged; ‘web map application’ at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, emphasised on the need for the staff to be alive to their responsibilities.
Mr. Salami, represented by the Special Assistant (GIZ), Mr. Remi Oluwabiyi, explained that the capacity building was an opportunity for them to garner more knowledge, towards contributing meaningfully to the development of the Bureau and the State at large.
On his part, the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Surv. Oladele Ewulo stated that web map application was necessary in land administration, saying land remains a major factor of production in the economy of the State.
In his lecture, the facilitator from Spatial Matrix Limited, Mr. Tobi Sowole stressed the importance of data, noting that it would make information available to users, through the application.
According to Sowole, data with the use of technology cannot be overlooked in this 21st century, and if not adopted, there is likelihood of error, as manual process is prone to it.
Responding on behalf of other participants, Surv. Ope Okunnaya and Mr. Kayode Sofolahan, appreciated the Bureau, saying that the capacity building would put them on their toes to meet the global standard in the discharge of their duties.
