 OTA LG BOSS LAUNCHES RIDERS UNIFORM, PREACHES SECURITY CONCIOUSNESS

Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Lawal has charged all the residents to be vigilant at this spate of kidnapping, ravage of Fulani Herdsmen, Boko Haram Terrorists amongst others which have exposed our society to grave danger.

The  Transition Committee Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Lawal(FCA)made this statement while delivering his speech at the launching of Okada riders Uniform at the local government Hall in Ota.

Alhaji Lawal added that in other to curb the menace, part of the proactive steps being taking by the administration to stem the tide and strengthen the security situation is to provide Uniform as means of identification for all our Commercial Motorcycle Riders saying that their biometrics will be captured in the local government website in other to easily track evil perpetrators among them and bring them to books.

He said at various security meetings, the use of Okada to perpetrate evils and criminal activities has been identified as major challenge by the security agencies adding that as a responsible government, we cannot fold our arms and allow degeneration, particularly with the influx of Okada riders as currently banned in some part of Lagos.

"Let me appeal to all our security agencies at ensuring the Enforcement of this new policy of providing uniform for all commercial Okada riders to strengthen the security architecture of the local government," the LG boss said.

Alhaji Lawal charged the union leaders both in 'ACOMORAN and ROMO' to corporate fully with the local government and security agencies in bringing this new order a reality.

Responding, the Riders & Owners Motorcyclists Organisation ( ROMO), Alhaji Chief Dr. Olusola AbdulRasaq Sotayo, said there is need for the Unions to adhere strictly to the Local Government policies to curb incessant purnishment of innocent riders especially at this insecurity level rampaging the country.

Alhaji Sotayo thanked the local government for the initiative at this time of security challenge in our dear state and country saying efforts will be made to ensure compliance at all times.
