The Ogun State Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo has been conferred with the “Award of the Most Outstanding Finance Manager for the year 2020”, by a Non-Governmental Organisation, the Ogun People’s Discourse, Abuja.
While presenting the award, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the President of the organisation, Prince Adeniyi Olutimehin, said the Commissioner was considered based on the financial and economic policies, geared towards accountability and transparency of government finances, saying the award would further encourage him to do more in the interest of the State.
Olutimehin described him as a quintessential leader, with astonishing virtues, saying his financial acumen and immense contributions to the financial and economic sustainability of the State, notwithstanding the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, stand him out among his peers in the country.
The recipient, Mr. Okubadejo said, just two years of Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration, it had achieved tremendous progress in every sector, as a result of regular consultation with relevant stakeholders and town hall meetings.
He appreciated the organisation for identifying with the State, as well as recognising the various economic policies and programmes being put in place by the present administration, towards engendering the desired economic growth and development, across the three Senatorial Districts.
The Commissioner enjoined people of the State to continue to support the present administration, by paying their taxes, levies and dues promptly, saying this would further assist the government to deliver on its electioneering promises.
The award ceremony had in attendance, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Hassan Adekunle and other management staff.
