We"ll not relent on our efforts to make Ogun roads free from traffic buttleneck -Trace boss
The Area 4 Commander,Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corp, TRACE ,Adekunle Ajibade said measures have been put in place to manage the frightening daily traffic bottlenecks around the axis in order to pave room for free flow of traffic in the area.
The Area 4 Commader, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corp, TRACE, Ogun West, Cdr. Ajibade Adekunle speaking on behalf of Corps Commander/CEO, Cdr. Seni Ogunyemi, TRACE,said to effectively manage the gridlocks and ensure traffic flows on our roads, the users must ensure strict compliance to traffic rules.
According to him, the traffic jam at Ijako- Owode has been subdued by mounting of traffic control points covering about 300 metres apart for effective monitoring and prevention of drivers from breaking the one lane flow of vehicles in each direction.
Ajibade emphasised that the major cause of the traffic bottlenecks is the impatience displayed by some drivers who break the one lane rule to form 2 to 3 lanes of vehicles going the same direction, thereby inhibiting the vehicular movement of vehicles coming from the opposite direction .
He added that presently trace operatives are working assiduously in shifts for about 18hours to control the Ijako traffic from the Brewery end to the Goro market which is a distance of about 1.2 kilometers explaining that, most times they break the lane immediately they leave or pass by our traffic control operatives and away from their watchful eyes, so we decided to create more control points on the road where traffic is diverted, owing to the construction on the other side of the road.
Ajibade said on a general note, no commuter should dare ply one way saying it is prohibited in Ogun State adding that any one caught will face the wrath of law.
He enjoined the road users to be law abiding and always ensure compliance to covid -19 protocols advising the residents to respond to inoculation when the need arises.
