Learners from schools across Ogun State have been honoured by the government, for winning 11 and nine laurels at the 22nd and 23rd editions of the National Junior Engineering Technician and Science (JETS) competition, in Lagos and Abuja respectively.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, while receiving the winners in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, applauded the learners for making the State proud at the competition, which he described as a platform that would encourage them to do better.
Prof. Arigbabu noted that students from the public schools would also be encouraged to participate more in such events, to bring more glory to the State, urging winners to be good ambassadors of the State.
"I am really pleased to celebrate you and I want to appreciate you for making the State proud, Ogun has been known to consistently win in any competition, and I know you will not relent in being good ambassadors of the State. I also want to thank your parents and teachers for their efforts in building you to be who you are", the Commissioner stated.
Speaking on behalf of other Students who received the laurel, Peace Fadero of Mayflower Secondary School, Ikenne, Oluwatoba Faleye, Ambassadors College, Ota and Ojesola Otunubi from Federal College of Education Model Secondary School, Osiele, lauded the government for celebrating them, enjoining their fellow students to keep studying hard and remain focused for them to be outstanding in their academic pursuits.
