Indications have emerged that socio-economic activities in some communities in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State will get a boost as the State government has commenced the reconstruction of some roads in the area.

The roads include the 13km long road stretching from Ayetoro, Igan Okoto and Imasai, that had hitherto been in a state of disrepair.

Speaking with newsmen, the Engineer on site, Ismael Adeyemi said the single carriage way reconstruction being done in phases would also enhance transportation of farms produce.

The first phase according to him is the 7km stretch, from Imasai to Igan Okoto will be completed with asphalt in nine months, while the remaining part would be done later.

Speaking to OGIS on the development, the Baale of Joga Ayetoro, Chief Solomon Akinlotan said the intervention would enable farmers convey their produce from adjoining towns to urban centres with ease and aid movement of commuters from Ayetoro to Ilaro, Owode-Idiroko and other States like Lagos, among others.

Speaking further, Chief Akinlotan solicited that such rehabilitation should be extended to other roads like Igan-Okoto-Igbogila roads.

Also speaking, the Otunba of Igan Okoto, Chief Sharafadeen Adeleye, commended government for the intervention which he believes would address the yearnings of dwellers of the area.
