INVEST IN ICT FOR BETTER EDUCATIONAL STANDARD- ABIODUN

 Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described Information Communication Technology (ICT), as a significant engine that propels all round development of any nation, hence the need for all and sundry to invest in it for better educational standard.

 


The Governor, who was represented by Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, made this call during the official commissioning and handing over of ICT/CBT Centre, facilitated by the Chairman, Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Mrs. Ronke Sokefun, at Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro, saying the current administration had invested much on ICT across the State, in order to ensure overall academic development in schools.

Prince Abiodun, while appreciating the donor for the landmark achievement, posited that the centre would drastically reduce the associated challenge in accessing ICT/CBT services, particularly during Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, charging the school management to ensure adequate monitoring and maintenance of the project.

"The sincere involvement and collaboration of individual philanthropists, groups, organisations and private sector in the development of ICT education in the State is most welcome", he said.

Speaking, the donor, Mrs. Sokefun, who was also an old student of the school, while commending the State government for the enabling environment to carry out the project, appealed to government, school authority, teachers and students, to properly utilise the facility.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Principal, Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro, (Senior), Mr. Sulaimon Sekumade who expressed gratitude to the initiator of the project, pledged to reciprocate the gesture, by ensuring the students receive the best of teaching and learning process to enable them utilise the opportunity maximally.

In her remarks, the Head Girl of the school, Mujeebat Ayokunle appreciated the fact that the progress was happening in their time, promising on behalf of other students to protect the facility in order for it to last longer.
