The Chairman, Ogun State Traditional Association (TWASO), Oluwo Faniyi Fashola has urged the governments at their various levels to embrace restoration of moral values in our Youths through Yoruba Tradition and Culture.
Oluwo Faniyi declared this while Fielding the journalists at the 11th annual ifa/Orisa festival and 3rd award giving ceremony at road 18 Dada Asalu via Ijagba Ota.
Ogun State Traditional Chairman, Oluwo Faniyi added that Olokun: The Great Hero Of The Ancient Yoruba is a point of connection to the spirit of prosperity in us saying to the Yoruba, Ifa originated with Olokun, whose preception brought joy simply means Ifa Olokun, asoro-dayo.
He explained that Ifá is a Yoruba religion and system of divination which Its literary corpus is the Odu Ifá, Orunmila is identified as the Grand Priest, as the one who reveals divinity and prophecy to the world.
According to him, Ifa still has a substantial responsibities in our society for socio-economic growth g and political sustainability which in no doubt would ameliorate the society for better Nigeria.
The Senior Medical Officer, Federal Aviation and Port Authority Of Nigeria, (FAAN), Dr. Olusegun Adeleke in his lecture titled "Restoration Of Moral Values In Our Youths Through Yoruba Traditional Religion and Culture", said 'Ifa is the only epitome of wisdom through which our Youths can behave in an accordance to the values and norms of the society.
He explained that good behaviour occassios fortune adding that nothing can attract fortune to mankind except good character whIch is best embraced by 'Ifa'.
The royal fathers, Oni Ijana Of Ijana, Oba Israel Akinyemi and Oba Onitetiku Of Owode, Oba Wasiu Ogungbayi in their separate remark give credence to 'Ifa' as problem solver which is indispensable in our society urging our government at various levels to embrace 'Ifa' in seeking solutions to our societal problems.
