Ogun State Primary Health Care Development Board is set to begin another round of Outbreak Response (OBR) exercise, to sustain the eradication of Wild Polio Virus in Nigeria, as well as the interruption of the Circulating Vaccine Derived Polio Virus 2 ( CvDpv2) in the State, through administering of Oral Polio Vaccine( OPV).
A statement by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola, indicated that the exercise will be conducted on Saturday 7 to Tuesday, 10 November, 2020, for children between age 0-59 months at no cost, in all the wards of Imeko Afon and Yewa North Local Government Areas.
The statement added that it would also involve the use of House-to-House vaccinating teams, government health facilities, market places and transit teams to religious houses.
It stated that mothers and caregivers should make their children and wards available, as well as inform others to get them immunised to avoid the spread of the virus in communities.
