OGUN JUDICIARY MAKES CASE FOR CHILD PROTECTION

 Ogun State Judiciary has organised a capacity building training for stakeholders in the Family Court, towards strengthening legislative and institutional framework that will protect children against violence, abuse and exploitation.



Deputy Chief Registrar (Legal) of the State High Court, Mr. Martins Akinyemi, made a case for the vulnerable children, while delivering a paper tilted; 'providing care and protection for children in need' at a day training organised for stakeholders in the Family Court at the State Judiciary, kobape road, Abeokuta.


Mr Akinyemi noted that the framework would ensure that children who are in humanitarian situation have timely and sustained access to quality preventive and responsive protection services, pointing out that unnecessary child reproduction should be curbed.


"The challenges facing children in the 21st century are immense and need to be tackled if we are to achieve the goal of child protection ". He said


The Special Adviser to Ogun state governor on women affairs, Hon Adijat Oladapo-Adeleye advised participants especially those sitting on matters involving children to be fair while dealing with such cases.
