Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engineer Noimot Salako has commended the doggedness of Ota Diamond Lions Club (ODLC) for being part of Governor Dapo Abiodun's led - administration agenda of " Building Our Future Together".
The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engineer Noimot Salako represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the office of the Deputy Governor,Hon. Kolawole Salako made this recommendation while commissioning Ota Diamond Lions Club Skill Acquisition and Wellness Center, opposite Shell Gas, Ilogbo road, Oju-Ore Ota.
According to her, the state government has given priority to our youths in making lives better thereby putting programmes that will enhance youths productivity and encouraging others non-governmental organisations to emulate a good gesture to help our youths stand a better chance in future.
Hon. Aina Akinpelu emphasises the need to take a cue from Ota Diamond Lions Club which focus, is to ensure continuity of governance and not individual aggrandisement adding that the then 2013 administration started the project which was completed by 20th president now in place.
He was enthusiastic to reckon with the club promising that government will not relent in its efforts to discharge her electioneering campaign promises to the people beseaching people to be patient with the present administration saying the paucity of funds and the pandemic have been a mitigating factor against the government.
The President of the club, Lion Mustapha Ajelara highlights some of the club's intentions to include: contributing positively to population and individual health through a healthy lifestyle approach, catering for the mental health needs of our community members, training the youths with the necessary skills that tie their visions to practical steps amongst others.
Ajelara thereby solicit for more supports from the government, corporate organisations and well meaning Nigerians within and outside our community.
