FG, OGUN GOVERNMENT INAUGURATE 100KWP SOLAR MINI GRID

The Federal Government, through the Federal Electrification Agency, Ogun State Government and ACOB Lightening Technology Limited have commissioned a 100kwp Solar hybrid Mini-Grid, at Olooji community in Ijebu-East Local Government Area of the State.


Speaking at the commissioning, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun  said energy is a great tool and key to improve socio-economic growth, noting that industrial and commercial activities in the area would witness turnaround, as the present administration remained committed to providing affordable power in rural communities.

Abiodun who was represented by the Commissioner for Rural Development Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, said the importance of electricity in promoting  Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises( MSMEs), could not be underestimated.

Also speaking, the Minister of State for Power,  Hon. Goddy Jedy-Agba,  represented by the Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency, Engr. Ahmad Salihijo, commended the State government for creating good environment for investors to thrive.

He pointed out that the agency is responsible for providing an enabling atmosphere for private sector to operate effectively, which includes conducting prefeasibility, assessment, energy audit, enumeration and identification of qualified private sector project stakeholders engagement.

Also speaking, the Managing Director, ACOB Lightening Technology Limited, Mr. Alexander Obiechina lauded the effort of state government for giving them the insight and conducive environment to establish the project.

In his welcome address, the Ajalorun of  Ijebu-Ife, Oba, Adesesan Oguntayo, appreciated the facilitators of the project for the opportunity, urging the community members to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.

‘’’Olooji community has being in existence for the past 200 years, and will always remember the facilitators of the project, particularly this present administration’’, he said.
