Principals, Teachers and other school administrators have been cautioned against any act of buying and selling during school hours, as such would attract punitive measures.
The Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr. Johnson Odeyemi said this during a meeting with the executives of Association of Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), at the Commission's Conference Room, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.
Odeyemi noted that the Unions and their members have vital roles to play in the present administration’s resolve at revamping the education sector, calling on them to support the government in actualising its dream.
He emphasised the need to sustain mutual cooperation with the Commission to further pave way for optimal performance of students across the State.
"As stakeholders in the education sector, you should let your activities reflect issues that would promote standard of education with multiplying effects on the optimal performance of students across the State. I urge principals and teachers to be diligent and pay attention to their mode of dressing and shun lateness, buying and selling in school premises.
In their separate responses, the Chairperson ANCOPSS, Mrs. Ayodele Womiloju and her counterparts in ASUSS, NUT and NASU, expressed gratitude to the State Government for transforming the education sector and provision of COVID-19 items to schools.
They assured that their members would not relent in the discharge of their duties, in achieving the expectations of government towards building a generation the Nation would be proud of.
