PERMANENT SECRETARIES TASKED ON CIVIL SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

 

 The out-going Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Kasali Olabimtan, has called on Body of Permanent Secretaries not to relent in coming up with policies and ideas that would further  bring about significant development in the State’s Civil Service.


Olabimtan who said this during a send-forth programmes, organised in his honour at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, added that every administration should feel their impact as the highest  echelon of the public  service.

He sought for robust interaction and cooperation between the Body of Retired Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries with serving Permanent Secretaries, noting that it would strengthen public service as well as ensure good governance.

Chairman of the body, who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr.Kolawole Fagbohun in his address promised to arrange a meeting between the bodies, where ideas could be exchanged, to bring about easy transit of any retiring Permanent Secretary into the Body of Retired Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries in the State.

He pointed out that members should not hesitate to call the attention of the body to any area that need to be improved on, adding that the Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun has been working relentlessly to see that adequate welfare package are provided for the entire civil servants by the present administration.

Fagbohun described Dr. Olabimtan as a disciplinarian, firm public servant who delivered on tasks assigned to him.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olu. Ola Aikulola, said the out-going Permanent Secretary, apart from being brilliant and intelligent, was friendly, always seeking for other people’s welfare
