OGUN MAJORITY LEADER PROMISES MORE DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY

Following his recent donation of three free school buses, to ease transportation challenges being faced by students around Ado-Odo Ota areas, the Majority Leader, Ogun State  House  of  Assembly,  Hon.  Yusuf Sheriff, has continued to receive encomium by the residents of the area which has spurred him to promise more dividends of democracy to the people of his Constituency.

The Majority Leader, said, it was imperative  to have a long term  project rather than helping people  to solve their immediate needs, stating that the donation of the buses was a dream come true as it has been in his agenda since he was the transition Chairman in Ado-odo /Ota Local Government  in 2011.

He charged the political office holders to endeavour to fulfil their electioneering campaign pledges which he described as the yardstick towards strengthening democracy.

"We are mindful of high cost of maintenance of these vehicles and its attendance challenges. Without any iota of doubt,  we shall be upright  to meet up with the challenges as long our people derive their satisfaction", he said.

A resident of the area, Mr Lekan Ayeni, thanked the Majority Leader and advised him not to relent his efforts  at making life comfortable for the people, calling on other political office holders in the state to emulate such good character that would  be reckoned with after their services.

He noted that  democracy is the best means of governance  if the politicians could be upright in their dealings with public funds entrusted to them, charging them to eschew misappropriation of public funds at their disposal.

Expressing delight at the donation, a student in one of the public schools, Ajibose Ajibola,  a student in one of the public schools around the area, said it was an overdue gesture, pleading for more of such gesture.
