- Recall the rapper had earlier announced he was going to lead a protest but later cancelled it after he had a chat with the Commissioner of Police

- In a recent post, he explained that if there are no changes, he would lead a protest

Naira Marley, has explained that he would wait one week to see if any changes are made concerning the abuse of power by the Special Anti-robbery Squad unit of the police, before leading a protest.

Recall the rapper had made it known that he would lead a protest but backed out of the planned EndSARS protest which was scheduled to hold on the morning of Tuesday, October 6.

Amidst mixed reactions, he explained that the protest will not be going on as planned due to new assurances by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

In a recent post, he stated that if nothing is done about SARS brutality then he would lead a protest. He also advised youths who are already protesting to do it peacefully.

He tweeted:

"Respect to all the youths out there fighting for their rights and what’s right. God bless y’all. After a week if there’s no changes on this fsars issue as promised by nigeriapoliceforce then we will get back out there stronger. Stay safe and protest peacefully if u re protesting."

In another tweet, he explained that the reason why he was asked to hold off on the protest was because they knew his fans were crazy and uncontrollable.

Just a few days after Marley made the last-minute cancellation of his much anticipated EndSARS protest, fellow celebrities Runtown and Falz picked up the mantle.

The entertainers who announced that the protest will be taking place on Thursday, October 8, kept to their words as they hit the streets of Lagos to protest against the disturbing activities of SARS.

Falz and Runtown were joined by other social media influencers, youths who have had enough of police brutality in the country.
