60th Indepencdence Anniversary: TRACE Boss Congratulates OGSG govt, Residents ...Gives Traffic Advice, prays for peaceful celebration The Corps Commander/CEO of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) 'Seni Ogunyemi, has felicitated with the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the entire residents in the state, on Nigeria's 60th year independence anniversary. This was conveyed through a press statement made available to TheCaveat.info from TRACE headquarters, Abeokuta, the state capital on October 1, 2020. Ogunyemi said: “I join the rest of the good people of Nigeria and Ogun State in particular as well as Africa and the entire globe in felicitating with you on this memorable day in our nation's history. "I salute His Excellence's courage in managing the affairs of the state well despite the apparent economic challenges biting the country as a whole, arising from a global economic meltdown. "His revered principle of integrity, and excellent wisdom of God have enabled people in the state across board to operate in an environment that allows for full expression of their political and social will and the protection of their inalienable rights to freely participate in their private and government affairs without any form of hindrance or intimidation", he said. Using the opportunity to advise motoring public, Ogunyemi urged that safety on the road should be everybody's responsibility. He said people in the state should join other Nigerians in being lawful, especially in traffic matters as well as cooperate with government at all levels to fully deliver on their electoral mandate to the state. While stressing on the need for everyone to stay safe on the roads, the TRACE boss called on the motoring public to be mindful of taking care of their vehicles before putting them on the roads. He said many accidents that sent innocent people to their early grave would have been avoided if those involved had been patient enough to obey normal traffic rules. According to the TRACE boss the era of traffic lawlessness is gone as TRACE operatives would be out to enforce traffic rules and regulations and would not compromise its duty to ensure safety on the roads in the state. Cautioning truck owners and drivers to ensure their vehicles are in proper order before putting them on the roads, Ogunyemi said there would be no room for Haphazard parking as this normally cause obstruction and induce traffic bottle-neck. Apart from traffic, Ogunyemi also enjoin members of the public to shun any act that will enhance the spread of COVID-19, by strict adherence to the regulations put in place for commercial transporters. "I wish, above all that the blessings and protection of God will rain upon everyone in the state; may we continue to enjoy the mercy of God in recording accident-free 'Ember months remaining in this year by His Grace. "Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria, long live Ogun State", the TRACE boss prayed.
