TO FOSTER RAPID DEVT. MDAs URGED TO COMPLY WITH GOV. ABIODUN 'S AGENDA
Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government in Ogun State have been challenged to be strategic in developing their Medium Term Sectoral Strategy (MTSS), as only projects and programmes that seek to complete ongoing projects, create jobs, generate revenue and in line with Governor Abiodun-led administration’s agenda, would be given attention, owing to lean resources.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Dada disclosed this in Abeokuta at a workshop organised for Directors of Planning, Research, and Statistics of MDAs on the preparation of Medium Term Sector Strategy for 2021-2023 budget.
She admonished MDAs to make best use of available resources in the State to deliver public services and improve the welfare of citizens, adding that the MTSS was a guide for sectors to plan and strategise on policies that would make the State more viable, in terms of outputs.
Dada urged participants to work harmoniously with one another in the sector in order to ensure even development, saying, tax payers’ money must be justified.
On his part, the Director of Planning in the Ministry of Budget and planning, Mr. Akinyemi Otunuga, informed that MTSS was important in translating State government’s policies and long term goals into reality, adding that Sectoral priorities should be well considered and accepted by members of the sector in order to achieve result.
