OGUN SUGGESTS CLOSE-UP, MERGE OF PRIVATE ORPHANAGES
Ogun State Government has indicated the need to merge or collapse orphanages, which are not operating in line with stipulated guidelines, as well as maintaining international best practices.

The State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Funmi Efuwape during the monitoring exercise to private Orphanages across the State, said the present administration was interested in Orphanages that were performing up to expectations, rather than those rendering inefficient services.

"Having so many Orphanages in the State is not the major thing. With the overview of what I have seen so far, we may have to merge or collapse some that are failing in maintaining the international best practices," Efuwape said.
Among the 33 Orphanages visited across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, are Ijamido Children Home, Ota, Ogun West, Kings Heritage Missionary Children Home, Ijebu- Ode, Ogun East and Gideon Orphanage, Abeokuta in Ogun Central.
