WE CONCEPTUALISE  IDEAS  TO BUILDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING- OGSG
          The Ogun State government says it is working assiduously through the Ministry of Housing and Ogun State Housing Corporation to deliver about 2,500 housing units for the 2nd phase of its affordable housing project in the State.
     
      Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi made this known during a chat with newsmen at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, noting that the idea of the just completed first phase of affordable housing project, named Prince Court Estate, located at Kemta, Idi-Aba, was conceived in July, 2019, when he was Special Adviser on housing and proposal approved by the Governor Abiodun for immediate implementation.
      
    Omoniyi affirmed that the completed houses, with state of the art infrastructural facilities would be delivered to applicants, who subscribed and met the criteria for allocation to the scheme, reiterating that the state government intervention in housing sector has facilitated replication of the Estate in Kemta ldi-Aba phase2, Iperu, Kobape, Sagamu WAPCO, GRA Resettlement, Ilaro, Ijebu-Ode, Otta and Ifo.         
          He implored the public to tap into the mortgage options put in place, to own their homes, describing the mortgage options in Nigeria as one of the best and cheapest in Sub-Sahara Africa, in terms of rate and tenure.
           The Commissioner mentioned that most of the estates constructed by past administrations in the State were moribund and would soon receive intervention, for possible sale to interested members of the public, saying government was not just providing housing for the people but also creating employment through the engagement of artisans, as about 25,000 artisans would be engaged for the second phase of the projects.
          Contributing, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, ESV Bolaji Orekoya lauded the Prince Dapo Abiodun government for listing housing as a pillar and enabler of his administration, saying the projects would add more value to the economy of the State.
