TRACE Corps Commander Warns Against Incessant Falling Of Tankers
Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), in its reports has revealed that no fewer than six tankers have involved in ghastly accidents claiming lives in the last one week due to incessant falling of Petrol tankers on the high ways.
The TRACE Chief Commander, Mr ‘Seni Ogunyemi, gave the revelation in an interview with the journalists in Ota, Ogun State , while reacting to a tanker that fell on Tuesday morning at Toll-Gate area in Ota spilling its fuel on the road which in no doubt can claim lives.
According to him, the prompt arrival of his Corps (TRACE) , fire fighters, FRSC and Police to the scene put the situation under control having battling for hours saying it has become imperative for both the owners and drivers of articulated truck especially Petrol tankers to exercise caution and do the needful in a bid to make the roads safer for other users.
“As a traffic agency, we cannot continue to allow Petroleum tanker owners to endanger and kill innocent people,”he said.
He enjoined them to desist from acts that could endanger the lives of other road users and loss of lives on the roads advising the tanker owners to install safety valve on their vehicles to avoid mishaps on the roads.
Ogunyemi thanked other security agents for their mutual supports and cooperation at all times when the need arises in a joint efforts to discharge effective service delivery.
