Ogun HoS Describes ICT As Viable Tool For Service Delivery
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been described as an important tool towards improving service delivery in governance, enhance transparency, revenue growth and cost management.
Speaking in Abeokuta at the launch of Ogun TechHub Academy and capacity building training on ICT for management staff in the State public service, with the theme" ICT: A Tool for Smarter Civil Service", Ogun State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun, said Technology innovation at various offices would ease service delivery.
‘’One of the ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda is to digitalize the public service activities, so that we can have an effective and efficient Government- to- citizen interaction", the HoS said.
In his address, the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Salisu Shuab said ‘’Knowledge is residual’’, as the training would provide participants the opportunity to improve on their values and be of great benefit to their organisations.
In her welcome address, the Director, ICT, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte, thanked the State Government for improving ICT and Introduction of new innovation to take the State to an enviable height, promising to propagate the use of ICT to improve every sector of the economy.
Speaking on behalf of participants, Mr. Francis Adepoju, from Accountant-General's office, appreciated Government's effort in building capacity of its workforce, which would improve their knowledge and skills.
The highpoint of the event was the official launching of the Academy by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi.
