OGSG:WE'RE READY TO PARTNER PRIVATE SECTOR ON GREENER ENVIRONMENT
Ogun State Government says it is willing to synergise with corporate and non-governmental organisations, faith based organisation and other internationally recognised interest group, to beautify parks and round about across the State.
Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun stated this when he hosted the Rotary Club District 9110 Lagos and Ogun at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, noting that the synergy became necessary to allow the organisations to effectively carry out their Corporate Social Responsibility in their host communities, as well as assist the State government’s development plans, particularly, at this time that Covid-19 had reduced the revenue base of the State.
Hon. Abudu-Balogun, while noting that the desire of Rotary Club to build parks and decorate some round-abouts across the state, was a welcome development that would complement the Ministry’s "Carbon Credit Programme", aimed at making the State green through beautification of medians and round-abouts.
Earlier, Leader of the delegation, Rotarian Jelili Efedi, said the club would collaborate with the State government in greener environment and waste management, and at the same time take up the challenge of beautifying some parks and intersections in the State, adding that it would also be planting at least 10,000 trees across the State, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
