ICT, AN AVENUE FOR DIGITAL ECONOMY TO THRIVE- IT EXPERT
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been described as an avenue for delivering quality education and transforming socio-economic activities in the country.
The Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on ICT, Mr. Dayo Abiodun stated this at a zoom meeting tagged, "Preparing our Academia for Digital Economy", organised by the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT), held at the Ogun TechHub, along Kobape road, Abeokuta, noting that for any State to move forward, there was need to leverage on ICT to deliver quality Education.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo said the rapid spread of digital technology had transformed many economic and social activities, calling for personalised learning with the power of technology, as Covid-19 had severely affected the world’s education system.
In his keynote address, the Guest Speaker, Mr. kehinde Sogunle said Digital Technology was an inseparable part of today's learning process, noting that Ogun State and Nigeria cannot progress economically without a flexible and constant pool of professionals.
According to him, Digital Economy Strategy required fostering and supporting the capacity of citizens, investing in digital management production skills, innovating design and solutions.
Earlier in her welcome address, Director, Information Technology, BIT, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte thanked the State Governor for creating enabling environment for the training, as the initiative would revolutionise the economy in the post Covid-19 era.
