GOV. DAPO ABIODUN CALLS FOR SCHOOLS INSPECTION FOR URGENT RENOVATION, UPGRADING

 Ogun State joint monitoring team, comprising Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Teaching Service Commission and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has inspected some schools in Igbesa, Ado-Odo Local Government Area of the State, for renovations and upgrading.
Leading the team, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, assured of urgent intervention to all schools visited, appealing to the Old Students Association, Parents Teachers Association, Communities and School Administrators to work in tandem with government to improve the state of the schools.
The Special Adviser said there was need to have a clear action plans on what needs to be put in place in some of the schools, while calling on people in the area to take more responsibilities by supporting the schools and also ensure adequate care of facilities provided.
"The government is committed to improve and upgrade all schools in the State to make learning environment more conducive and ensure that teaching and learning is being done the proper way, hence the need to monitor the state of all schools and provide them the necessary infrastructures, equipment and facilities", Soyombo submitted.
The Commissioner in the Ministry of Forestry, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, an Old Student of Imale Comprehensive High School, Igbesa, who was also on ground during the inspection, appreciated the intervention to schools across the State, promising to spearhead provision of some of the facilities needed and also get citizens of the communities to donate towards the betterment of the schools
Speaking, the Principals of both Junior and Senior Schools, Igbesa High School, Mrs. Olukemi Adeogun and Mrs. Olajumoke Johnson, respectively, lauded government for the visit, appealing for implementation of more projects and programmes, capable of uplifting educational standards in the State.
