As part of efforts towards ensuring total eradication of Corona virus pandemic from the country, Ogun State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has embarked on the monitoring exercise in banks to assess and maintain social distances.
The NSCDC State Commandant, Alhaji Hammed ABODUNRIN made this declaration in a press release directing that a professional implementation of the physical distancing order to further curb the spread of the pandemic is maintained in our various banks.
According to him, the Command's Disaster Management and Technical Departments have been directed to ensure that a professional demarcation of bank premises be immediately done in tandem with the government's directives adding that this is as a result of overcrowding experience during the lockdown relaxation.
"Civil Defence prevents disasters. This Operations Stay at Distance (OSaD) is aimed at ensuring physical distancing and it will be done in the most civil manner, I am to personally supervise the social distancing in our banks on Friday, 8th, May, to ascertain the level of compliance ", the commandant said.
He added that the command has also acquired the machine for regular disinfection of its headquarters premises and other formations of the command as may be necessary noting that as an agency that may have to arrest and detain suspects for high profile crimes such as vandalisation and oil theft, regular disinfection is inevitable.
Abodunrin further disclosed that while the command procured the machine, the Ogun State Ministry of Environment supplied the appropriate specification of the right chemicals and disinfectants free of charge saying the State Command has keyed into this opportunity by also training some of its disaster management personnel on the professional and skilful ways of disinfecting their environment without having the recourse to invite the State Ministry of Environment.
Abodunrin then assures the State Government of the Command's prompt responses during this pandemic period and beyond, all in the bid to make sure that the dreams and aspirations of the government are achieved.
