POLICE ARREST 29 YEAR-OLD INDIAN HEMP DEALER IN LAGOS

A notorious India  hemp dealer  at Igbogbo,  Ikorodu, area of Lagos State,  Mr Sanni Abiodun has been arrested  by the Police  Operatives  from Zonal Monitoring  Unit, Zone 2, Police  Command Headquarters,  Onikan in Lagos State.

 Speaking  with the journalists  in his Office, the Assistant  Inspector General of Police(AIG)Ahmed Illiyasu  said the arrest was made on 10th,April, 2020 adding that the suspect was arrested with a large quantity of substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

According to the AIG, the suspect a-29year old boy,  when interrogated, made a voluntary confessional statement to the Police of  being in possession of a locally made pistol and 6 rounds of live cartridges which the group uses for their operations which were recovered from him and  one Mr Babajide as the supplier of the weed.

Iliyasu has ordered  further investigation  in order to get to the root of the matter vowing the arrest of other Indian hemp dealers in both the nooks and crannies  of Lagos and Ogun State.

He enjoined the residents  of Lagos and Ogun State to be calm especially  during this period of pandemic adding that  Police Operatives  will not relent  in its efforts  to make this axis a comfortable  place for them.
