Lagos- 11th June, 2026. The Department of Accounting, Lagos State University, has emerged as the overall winner of the prestigious Access Bank 6.0 Inter-School Quiz Competition held in Lagos, defeating competitors from University of Lagos and other tertiary institutions across the state.

The remarkable feat was achieved under the leadership and academic guidance of the National Universities Accounting Students Association (NUASA) President, Comrade Precious Ayomikun Bankole, whose commitment to excellence has continued to inspire students within the department.

Representing the LASU Accounting Department at the highly competitive contest were Miss Aisha and Mr Oreoluwa, who displayed exceptional intelligence, confidence, and mastery of accounting-related concepts. Their outstanding performance earned LASU the coveted first position and a cash prize of ₦250,000.

Speaking after the victory, Comrade Precious Bankole described the achievement as a product of dedication, teamwork, and a strong culture of academic excellence within the department commending the participants for their resilience and hard work, noting that the success further validates the quality of education and mentorship available in the department.

"This victory is a testament to what students can achieve when they remain focused and committed to their academic pursuits. We are proud of Aisha and Oreoluwa for flying the LASU flag high and bringing honour to our department and university," she said.

She also urged students to take their studies seriously and seize every opportunity for intellectual growth, stressing that academic competitions provide valuable platforms for learning, networking, and showcasing talent.

The triumph has been widely celebrated by students, lecturers, and alumni of the department, who described it as another landmark achievement for the Accounting Department.
