HoS COMMENDS ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED HoS AND PERM SECS FOR QUALITY LEADERSHIP AND MENTORSHIP

Members of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries in Ogun State have been commended for the many ways they are providing mentorship, leadership, guidance, and support to continually move forward the Civil Service and the State at large.

The Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, gave the commendation while attending in the company of some Permanent Secretaries, the Quarterly Meeting of the Association held at the Obas' Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Regarding his presence in the midst of those who mentored and moulded him to be what he is today as a rare privilege, the Head of Service appreciated the Association for contributing their quota positively to the Civil Service towards reforming and moving the State forward.

Laying credence to the fact that since they know the weaknesses and strengths of the service, the Head of Service assured them that those coming behind would continually tap into the reservoir of knowledge and look unto them for guidance and support.

"I want to appreciate the Association for allowing its members to train workers in the Civil Service in order to raise the falling standard. I also want to thank them for serving in various committees such as the Review Committee on Public Service Rules, Review Committee on Financial Regulations, and Committee to Develop Induction and Orientation Manual, amongst others, as well as playing advisory roles, and providing guidance and support at all times", Mr. Fagbohun said.

The Head of Service equally pleaded with the senior citizens to exercise patience with the government and continue to support it, as all their demands will be given adequate attention in due course, as the state is prided on a passionate governor who is committed to the welfare of its citizenry.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Chairman, Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, Engr. Adeniyi Abiola, appreciated the Head of Service, elder statesmen, and members of the Association for their presence and unflinching support in moving the Association, Civil Service, and State forward, soliciting more support as a lot of grounds still needed to be covered for more progress.

In attendance with the Head of Service were Permanent Secretaries from the Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Mrs. Bukola Adeniregun, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Hameed Ojo, Ministry of Health, Dr. Kayode Oladehinde and his counterparts from the Ministries of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Samuel Adeogun and Mr. Timothy Olatunji.
