ABIODUN BREAKS 28 YEAR BARRIER, APPOINTS NEW ORIMOLUSI
Governor Dapo Abiodun has broken all
barriers stalling the installation of an oba in Ijebu- Igbo area of ogun State since the demise of the then oba 28-year-ago.
Subsequently, arrangements are being concluded for the installation and presentation of s
taff of office to the newly appointed Ormolusi of
Ijebu-Igbo, His Royal Highness, Oba Lawrence Adebajo at Abusi Odumare Academy School ground, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, who was at the installation venue to ascertain the level of preparedness for the event, noted that the vaccum had greatly affected development that ought to have happened to the town in the past.
Afuape, said, government was able to break through as a result of tolling the line of law and following due processes of installing a monarch in the State.
He said, government would continue to ensure there are no delay in filling vacant stools in the state, in other to bring necessary development to the communities.
Also present at the ground were the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Funmi Efuwape, Executive Chairman, Ijebu North Local Government, Hon. Odusanya Omobolaji, Bejeroku of Oke-Agbo, Oba Adeleke Adekoya, Olokine of Ojowo, Oba Abayomi Banjo, the Permanent Secretary, of the ministry, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun and members of the installation planning committee.
