The Assistant Inspector General of Police incharge of Zone 2 Onikan Lagos, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc+ has assured the residents in both Lagos and Ogun States of tranquility to sleep with their two eyes fully closed.
AIG Ahmed made this statement in a chat with journalists in Ota, adding that DPOs, Area Commanders, tactical Commanders and Commissioners of Police in both States are working assiduously to beef up security through out the nooks and crannies of the areas.
He advised hoodlums in the habit of terrorising the residents to henceforth deviate from this barbaric attitude otherwise face the wrath of law, saying, there is no place for criminals to hibernate within the Zone.
He further noted that, Covid -19 is real which has caused unrest globally, the position of governments on lockdown is to detect hidden cases of this pandemic and proffer solution that will get rid of this virus, emphasizing that fighting unknown enemy is enough than causing unrest through criminals in our area.
he activities of the hoodlum which began in the border areas of Ifo, agbado, akute and Ijoko in Ogun State speed over to Agege Ipaja, Isolo, Oshodi, Badagry, Idimu, Isheri, Alabama and some areas of Alimosho, most of these areas, they shared common borders, culture and commercial activities. So after making a review of this architecture, we therefore decided to bring out a complete plan whereby the activities of these miscreants will be brought down to level",.
"We are assuring all our people in Lagos and Ogun State based on the security architecture, we have now put in place also with the assistance of the states Governments in these two states as well as the Inspector General of Police, new sets of tactical fusion forces have been deployed also there is patrol, quick response, we have set out all the numbers Operatives in the command, the DPOs, area commanders, I'm assuring all the people to go back and disregard some of the rumours spreading around, to sleep with their two eyes closed because our Officers are on ground, tactical commanders, commissioners of Police that we have on ground also with the injection of a deputy inspector general of Police who is coming in to observe and coordinate some of the operations of the tactical injected. We are assuring everybody of peace and tranquility", Iliyasu added.
Iliyasu enjoined the residents to be vigilant at all times and report any suspicious individual at their area to the Police adding that governments have put machineries in place to foresee any criminality.
